Sata DVD-ROM Causing possible PC freezing.

My Pc has a frozen a few times recently, when i turn it back on it just gets stuck at the post screen, so i decided to unplug my sata DVD-RW and it worked again, then it happened again half an hour ago and the same happened again, so unplugged the sata DVD-RW again.

How the hell could that cause my PC to Freeze?
