Blue screen caused from psu or motherboard or Windows 7?
I've been trying to chase down a problem with my Window 7 64 bit system here.
I do have AHCI set in the bios (raid now with these new drives,) and the newest Intel drivers, and have tried older drivers/MS etc too.
I had a Silverstone case that had passthru cables to act as hotswap slots. I wanted to use a smaller WD drive to back up my system. Everytime I insert the drive it bluescreens (I don't remember the #/info as I'm not willing to try it again on this setup with the ssd's and raid till I have an idea what it is!) If I boot with the drive installed it's fine. No problems removing it this second way either.
Now I have a Lian Li case with the same hardware and it has backplanes in it and it does the same thing when inserting a drive.
I have tried direct cable connections in both cases to the MB. I have tried replacing the psu as someone mentioned it might be from that (spike) to no avail. Tried different plugs, cables, drivers, cases, hard drives, etc to no avail. Reintalled many times etc etc
Now I have three SSD's in raid 0 and really need a backup solution (this current setup is the one in my info.) I have tried it again with this setup and it still does it. I don't want to risk screwing up the raid array and the ssds. I want to try to figure out if it's the motherboard or Windows. I don't think it's the psu anymore as it does it with two different psu's...
Any ideas and suggestions would be great.
Thanks
