    Hi Pebbly FerchogtX,

I tried reinstalling the driver from device manager and also ran the intel chipset utility. Still no joy.
I appreciate your help. Any other suggestions are welcome.

    Thanks!!!
Hi m0aje, Uninstall the device [in device manager] reboot the PC and see if Windows reinstalls it correctly

    Mass Storage Controller

    Hi Pebbly,

I tried that too. I ran the chipset utility and un-installed the device in device manager and tried re-installing it. I also tried rebooting and still no joy. I appreciate your help and suggestions. I will keep trying.

    THANKS!!!

Yes, I have this problem too.....Initially, I had all three issues (sound, mass storage, and PCI modem) and I tried to install the chipset utility, but it failed. Manually editing one of the sound driver files with the hardware IDs fixed this issue as demonstrated on this forum! However, I tried a simply procedure for the mass storage controller (card reader) with the texas instruments software drive and it failed to function in detecting a SD card I put into the computer. I tried some alternative workarounds with editing the driver file with the appropriate hardware/compatible/other IDs but to no avail. Thankfully someone else asked all the questions would have asked so I can't suggest anything except if somebody has any new information pertaining to this issue.
I'll update here or on my blog with news. You should be able to find my blog if the new information is posted (I'll have it tagged with all the appropriate words).
