Not sure if this is what you're asking for. Thanks for your assistance.
By the given ID's, maybe is not an USB stick... consulting with "Saint Google" seems to be a "Texas PCIxx21 Integrated FlashMedia Controller" you can get your driver by cheking your exact laptop model here:
HP Pavilion zd8000 Notebook PC series*-* Download drivers and software - specify product name - HP Business Support Center

Hi FerchogtX,
I tried the site you mentioned first. The only driver HP has available for my laptop is for Windows XP. Apparently HP only singled out a few old laptops out there to support Windows 7. I had the same issue with the sound driver and someone much smarter than me on this forum cleverly figured out a work-around for my sound issue and I got that working great. I am running Windows 7 Professional x64. I am looking for a work around for the mass storage controller in device manager. Thanks for your assistance.
Hi m0aje, download and install this driver HP Pavilion zd8000 Notebook PC series - Media Card Reader Driver - HP Business Support Center you will have to install it in compatibility mode for XP Compatibility Mode follow all the steps including "run as administrater"
Hi Pebbly,
Thanks for the suggestion. I downloaded the driver and installed it as you said with the compatiblilty in XP, etc.. It installed OK with no problems, but it didn't clear the error in device manager. Thanks for your help though. I appreciate it.
Cheers!
Go to device managger, right click the mass storage device and then in update driver... see if that helps.
See ya!!!
Hi m0aje, Run this utility program from Intel Intel® Driver Update Utility let it update your chipset driver
Hi Pebbly FerchogtX,
I tried reinstalling the driver from device manager and also ran the intel chipset utility. Still no joy.
I appreciate your help. Any other suggestions are welcome.
Thanks!!!
