It's actually cheaper and it features a Cooler Master PSU! 600w, what do you think??

Going purely by specs, it seems fine.
600W / 40Amps and over 80% effecient.

The Corsair is 550W / 41Amps.

Amperage and effeciency is most important anyway.

I do not have any experience with the quality of CoolerMaster PSUs myself
(good or bad)

Hopefully someone else does that can give a better recommendation on them.
I simply do not know.

Probably 300$ (including everything), here's what i got so far (from Newegg):

1) Cooler Master HAF 912: 59.99$
2) Rosewill RV-700, 700w: 59.99$
3) EVGA GTX 460 768MB: 169.99$

Where are you planning to put this video card? You stated in your first post you do not have PCIe 2.0 slot.

the MoBo i have doesn't have a PCI-E x16 2.0, it has a 1.0 one.. i don't know if that changes something.. thing is i don't wanna change MoBo because i bought it 2 months ago and i love it..
That video card will not work in a PCI 1.0 slot.

It should work on a PCI-X 1.0.

The cards themselve are backwards compatable.
There might be a slight performance hit, but likely not noticeable.

but wouldn't it make sense just to do it the right way i mean if you're going to upgrade might as well make it worth you're wild if you catch my drift

If you have enough to get a mainboard then do so if that can be transfered to a new mobo as a upgrade you are better off it would make no sense to semi fix the issue with a few upgrades might as well go all out it will be a smarter decision in the long run

not knocking your method but todays graphic cards are very demanding power ram etc Wishmaster said no noticable performance but later on when games depend on that 2.0 then you will have to spend more money again to compensate for the problem you could of avoided from the jump

just my opinion nothing is ever set in stone just something to think about

I would agree, upgrading the MOBO while your at it may be for the best in the long run.
At least, I would.

OK guys, here's what i have so far..

I searched in Newegg for a LGA 775 MoBo with DDR2 800 as memory standard, with PCI-E x16 2.0 and nothing came up.

So, i can't afford an upgrade that includes RAM (because a P45/P55 etc. have DDR3 slots) and MoBo (with PCI-E x16 2.0), besides the things i've stated in the initial post.

I am completely aware that placing a PCI-E x16 2.0 card in a PCI-E x16 1.0 will make a difference, performance-wise, but i don't have another solution right now.

One of you guys stated that i shouldn't buy the GTX 460 because of the MoBo and the PCI-E slot.. the thing is.. there aren't many PCI-E x16 1.0 video cards on the market.. so i guess i don't have another option but to buy a PCI-E x16 2.0 card and then with hopefully more money from work.. buying a MoBo with that exact slot..

Now, will the difference be really noticeable? i mean, with the 2.0 slot and the 1.0 slot... im guessing it's a bandwidth performance what we're discussing here...

Thanks for all the support, you guys

As far as the Motherboard goes, decent socket 775 boards are getting hard to come by.
Especially if you want DDR2 support to hang to that older hardware a bit longer.

The only one I could find (in stock currently) that supports DDR2 and has PCI-X 2.0 is this P45 Biostar.
Newegg.com - BIOSTAR TP45E Combo 6.X LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard

I don't know about that board specifically, but I have had 2 Biostar boards in the past and haven't had any problems out of either one.

Then theres the EP45-UD3L Gigabyte.

Sadly, its sold out atm but, its a nice little board.

When my old DFI x48 died, thats what I got to replace it Missing features some higher end boards have, but overall a good board.

Yeah, not that bad at all.. i've had "decent" experiences with Biostar.. i had a Socket 478 one, but it died a year after i got it.. actually.. the PSU killed it.. but 75$!!! that's practically the price of a decent newer MoBo, i could definately wait...

PS: i don't live in the US, i have a credit card with 300$, that's the whole story.. i have to pay international shipping.. let's see..

Crucial Ballistix 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600: 95$

Aaaaaaaaaaaaand that'd give me some time to think, i could change to AMD and buy a AM3 Athlon II x4 processor with MoBo, for less than 220$ but now i'm looking way ahead.. right now.. i'm leaving things as i stated them on the OP!

The Case i'm buying is the Cooler Master HAF 912.. loved it so far..
PSU, still not sure.. i saw some SeaSonic PSU's with >87% efficiency but they're pricey.. 130$ for the 650w model..
Video Card, debating between GTX 460 or an ATI with similar specs (probably HD5830).. i was looking into GTS 450 but ew no.. it's like, half of a GTX 460 for 30$ less.. doesn't make too much sense..

So.. that's it
