    Logitech MX 5500

    Hi all

I am loving my new Windows 7 x64 install and have had few difficulties with anything.

One absolute disaster, however, is my inability to connect the keyboard from my MX5500 combo.

I am using the latest Widcomm drivers and the mouse and my phone connect fine through the add device wizard.

The keyboard is recognised but when I click next to add, Windows reports "connecting to device" but thats it. I have left it for a considerable time, but no luck so far.

    Anyone using it fine?

    Is this a Bluetooth combo?

If it is Bluetooth, download BluetoothView]
to see if it identifies the devices.

    View detailed instructions here:
BluetoothView - Monitor the Bluetooth activity around you

I performed a Google search and basically found only XP drivers.

Yeah, it is a bluetooth combo.

Thanks for this link, very helpful.

Bluetoothview shows the keyboard as available, but unable to connect.

    Connection Failed (Error Code: 10049)

    Any ideas what this means?

Brief google search turned up nothing too useful.

I went directly to Logitech's site and the drivers thaey had were for the setpoint.

This was based on a search for Cordless Desktop® MX™ for Bluetooth®

You may have to backup a page for other models.

There are downloads for Vista 32-bit and 64-bit

    Try this link:

I registered just to answer this question

Disconnect the mouse and keyboard and everything then reconnect again... When they show up on the bluetooth menu, don't select next. Right click both the mouse then the keyboard... there should be a little box that needs checked on each to install the drivers... enjoy

The setpoint drivers worked fine for me with the MX5500 combo keyboard/mouse.

Setpoint 4.72 for Vista x64 works fine in Windows 7 x64 for my MX5000 Bluetooth combo.

Ok, so problem was not the installation of setpoint, but thanks all the same. For anyone else toiling with the installation of a bluetooth keyboard, any make, you need to right click on the device once discovered. Select properties and check the box for HID devices. Problem solved.

Ok say I just realised that my last post did not allow updates to my email, so I did not realise there had been all these responses.

Thankyou so much to reclaim3r, registering for me, much appreciated. Wish I had seen your post earlier!

This is a spot on response!
