so. what no point to reinstall system?
so. what no point to reinstall system?
Im not sure it matters but, once when I upgraded from a dual to a quad it installed the new drivers for the CPU automatically at 1st boot.
In my device manager, It had listed 4 CPUs as it should, but 2 were the old Core 2 duo, and 2 were the new Quad for whatever reason.
I fixed by simply un-installing all 4 of the CPU drivers, re-booting and letting it re-install them all.
it then showed all 4 as the new Quad.
Although a very minor issue, there were no other issues or need to re-install the OS however.
So, NO.
I do not think a re-installation of the OS would be required for a CPU upgrade.
there is no option to disable core 0. but i have tried to disable/enable other core. same idea would lunch with 2 cores but not with four.
device manager can recognise cpu correctly but it shows only processors as i can only boot system with any 2 cores.
new thing... I managed to boot system with all 4 cores enabled but in safe mode. device manager recognise all 4 cores. does it make any sense?
