how to disable cyberlink web cam

I want to install a photo/slide scanner (Innovative Technology ITNS-500 from Walmart) and they suggest disabling any installed image devices like the Windows 7 Cyberlink web cam. This is my first computer. Can I disable this device? Can anyone talk me through step by step how to both disable it and then how to enable it again for future use? Thanks!

you can enable/disable devices in "device manager". i assume they want you to disable temporarily, until you get the photo scanner installed?

To quote the instructions "to avoid coflicts of the software, please uninstall any previously installed IT scanner before installing the driver software of ITNS-500 scanner." Then it says "To avoid further conflicts of the driver software, please also disable or uninstall other image devices such as Webcam, Digital Still Camera or Traditional Scanner in the device manager from your Windows OS." It gives the instructions for Windows 7 to to to "Start Menu - Control panel - System and security - System - Device Manager" but when I went there I could not figure out how to disable the Webcam, only how to actually uninstall it. I don't want to do that, I would rather not use the scanner program and take it back to the store. Can you help me any further? Thanks!
