    PCI Modem

I want to be able to use fax facilities with Windows 7, either using Windows Faz/Scan application or another such as VentaFax. However the problem I have is how to connect to the phone line. I assume I will need either in internal or external modem. I would prefer an internal PCI Modem but I can't seem to find any that are compatible with Windows 7.

Since Windows 7 has a Fax application what is the usual configuration to exploit it?

This PCI Modem: Newegg.com - Rosewill RNX-56CX Conexant 56Kbps PCI Bus (Plug & Play) Internal V.92 PCI Date/Fax/TAM modem with Speaker- WINDOWS VISTA READY, has Windows 7 32 and 64-bit drivers. This PCI Express Modem also has Windows 7 32 and 64-bit drivers: Newegg.com - U.S. Robotics USR5638 56Kbps PCI Express V.92 Faxmodem, although apparently it may have issues with the built-in Windows Fax Software.

But generally, a modem is the way to go. There are also efax setups where you can have a phone number that you use to send faxes via internet. I'm not too familiar with it but this site: eFax - Internet Fax to Email Services, should have more details on it.
