New motherboard (p5qd turbo) and power supply seems to have solved the blue screen issues (well black screen actually since after a couple of blues it stopped showing anything..

)

New hardware, but had a feeling that something else also failed me along with the mobo and pwr supply so I ran Memtest a couple of times and found that 1 of my 4 in total rams (crucial) has some problems.. Seeing that there's a life time guagantee on these Crucials and that they came in pairs.. BUT the shop lacks any of them in stock.. got me thinking of maybe adding 4gb (2x2gb) thats available instead of waiting for a new single module replacement..

The question is if I can actually add different rams, what I should look for while choosing the new ones..etc?

when choosing new ram it is best to check the QVL for your motherboard, usually available on the manufacturers website. if it is not listed there it doesnt mean it wont work, it just makes things easier

the next thing to do is buy ram in matching pairs, usually the same brand and model (even better if at the same time) because ram is pretty finicky and usually it works better when paired. that doesnt mean it wont work if its not the same, but it potentially saves you a lot of trouble

also check the type and speed of the ram to be sure it matches (if its the same brand/model then it will be) if you are overclocking you need faster ram, etc..

im not exactly sure what you are trying to accomplish, but it sounds like you should just wait for the manufacturer to send you a RMA - lifetime warranty on ram

was hoping to be able to take advantage of the "flaw" and raise my total ram from 4gb to 6 by adding a pair of 2gb modules.. but I guess your explanation kinda excludes the possibility..
