So now what?
I cant remember if my motherborad have the proper slot to accept ocz revo.
Maybe i will take a look in the manual.
Google mobo. REVO is a PCIe x4 bus connection.
You seem to be in a hurry, slow down. Get your ducks in a row first. You do not want your REVO experience to be frustrating.

Your board ? and the REVO.

The PCI-E for vid cards is the only bus that has a chance. And it looks wrong to me. Does the pins have to match exactly, I do not know.

Also, the specs you have listed are for a 5 year old + machine?
One thing that assists with SSD performance is the cpu. CPU does the work, your current one could be a SSD dehancer. I'm not saying it is but your REVO is new tech. It will want what it wants around it to get the most out of it.
Not trying to discourage just want you to have a good SSD experience.

This is the ultimate if you can afford it. It is essentially a SSD array. Boot times of 2sec. have been reported. If on top of that you have a CPU that can keep up with it (e.g. an i7 975X), than you really fly.

True, I get stuck in the BIOS splash screen for a longer time than it takes to boot Win7. But I have a lot of devices hanging off my box - that seems to be the problem.

You are assuming that the REVO is your only choice. Any SSD will give you the thrill that you seem to crave. Any SSD installed properly will beat any spin drive performance, any time.

So,
You want to install to an existing hardware setup. Google your hardware and familiarize yourself with all the stuff you want to add an SSD into. mobo, mobo bios, ram, cpu. It will not take that long. Any question that arises because of your new awareness, google it. Spend a day.

You have an Intel chipset, with a xxx9r controller. Understand this.
You have 2 PCI-E x16 buss, 2 PCI ???? bus, 2 mini black things bus.
One question here is will the REVO PCIe x4 work your x16 slots?????

Look up mobo bios updates and see if needed.
W 7 installs are SSD friendly. W7 was set up to accomodate SSD's. You need to see if W7 will function with your hardware, it will. But poke around the question.

There many kinds of SSD's!

It need not be a Revo. For about $100 you are well served with a e.g. 40GB SSD for the Windows7 OS that will give you a completely new performance experience.
