Laptop CPU running hot?

Recently my laptop has been running hot all of the sudden, at idle it runs at 56C and with 7 percent load 60... i still have a bit of warranty on it so I don't wanna open it up and check if the thermal pasted it on right and what not, So what do?

use compressed air and blow it out very well, also remove the memory expansion case on the bottom and make sure no dust is built up inside of it.. another thing to note is that laptops generally run hot... less airflow means more heat

Yeah, I know but I started noticing it getting hot when the fan revved really high, When i play games it used to run fine and good but now its running at 71C... And it would lag like hell, before it didn't to that, Ill see ill try to blow it out.

my laptop had like a 1in^3 ball of solid dust built up in the memory expansion bay and i used to blow it out regularly with compressed air through the side vents... when it wouldnt cool down i took everything i could off of the case and blew ALL of the dust out

Ya those laptops can really get dirty and they need to be cleaned often then again so do desktops...The fins behind the fan can really become quite heavily plugged in some cases removing the fan and using a profession dental pick being careful and unclog those fins.

Dont forget that a lightly moistened q-tip followed by a dry one will clean the fan blades, it's a royal pain but it will dramatically increase air flow. One a year for sure to do a deep clean if run on a daily basis.

Can i open all the back panels, without taking the parts out without voiding the warrenty?

sometimes there will be a warranty sticker. if that is there and you remove it, you void the warranty. usually they are on the harddrive bay of the bottom of the laptop not the memory expansion cover because adding more ram usually doesnt void your warranty.

The compressed air suggestion might help but be careful not to let the compressed air overspin the fan blade.

I recently acquired a Toshiba laptop that was running hot as you describe, I took it apart and removed a bunch of lint from the fan housing, compressed air didn't help in this case.

Since you don't want to open the case and perhaps void the warranty, maybe one of those cooling pads would keep things in check until after the warranty period.
