    can i install Windows 7 HomePremium 64bit on a 32 MB Cache HDD ?!

    hi there,

i just got a new 1 TB Samsung HDD (HD105SI) with 32 MB cache, i tried to install Windows 7 HomePremium 64 bit but after the first restart in the installation process i get an error message, don't remember it exactly but it looks like this: "windows cannot configure one or more of hardware installed, restart your computer and restart installation again".

when i tried to install Windows HomePremium 32 bit on the same HDD it worked just fine, but i don't need 32 bit version, i need the 64!!

so, my question in brief: can i install a 64 bit version of windows 7 on a 32 mb cache hdd ?!!

    thanks, guys : )

i know this all, but i always get this message: "windows could not configure one or more system components. to install windows, restart the computer and then restart the installation."

i don't know what to do, i tried installing windows xp on it and it worked fine, windows 7 32 bit works fine too, but 64 doesn't !

make sure you format the disk as you install 64bit. It will give you the option when you begin installing, though you may have to select something that says "advanced install" or similar. Do follow the link yowanvista gave you, it will help you out. Sometimes advanced users skip things accidentally. If you can use 64 bit even with a mysterious component not being installed, and can use it to your liking, then no harm done. What do you mean when u say 64 bit doesn't work fine? perhaps some hardware on your computer does not support 64bit? what kind of motherboard do you have?
