Hi all!
My BIOS has a Framebuffers setting; Upper or Lower 4G (maybe: Above/Below; not sure); has something to do with graphics.
I've looked everywhere to find out what this means and what it should be set at with no luck.
I've tried setting it both ways and do not notice any difference.
What does this setting do?
Nope. Nothing to do with graphics, and everything to do with ram. That setting is also known as "memory hole remapping",has something to do with graphics.

and with the 8 GB listed in your specs, you want it enabled/above 4G.
guessing you didn't check the Windows system properties when you had it disabled/low. With that setting disabled Windows should only have seen up to 4 GB of ram, and had the same as what happens to 32 bit Windows and only had 2.5-3 GB of available ram (rough guess looking at your specs).I've tried setting it both ways and do not notice any difference.
Reported RAM has always been 8GB regardless of how I have Framebuffers set.
I guess I'm going to have to boot into BIOS to be sure of the Name of the setting- Senior Moment- I just can't remember what it is exactly.
I'm pretty sure it's a graphics-related setting.
Incidentally, I have" Memory Hole" thing disabled- always have...
It'll be an hour or so, but I'll get back to this when I have the actual setting Name in BIOS (I'm in the middle of a huge download at the moment).

Sorry you're right, I mis-read the manual (PDF's a great until the things you're looking at get split by page breaks).
That said unless you're using the onboard video at the same time as your 5770 (which works very well for an extra monitor or two), then I wouldn't worry too much about that setting. Not really sure what or how it would affect things as you would have to enable the onboard to test it.
The only thing I can see it being for is if you have more than 4 GB of ram and running 32 bit Windows, and that setting will force the onboard video to take the ram from above 4 GB and freeing up what it takes leaving a full 4 GB for the OS.
OK, stormy13. I don't have the on-board enabled.
I think I have it set to the lower 4GB setting- not sure.
So, you're saying this setting doesn't make any difference considering my set-up?

Pretty sure that is what it is for and will only have an affect if using the onboard with more than 4 GB of ram and a 32 bit OS.
