    Dell D630 hibernates without notification

    Dear All,

I have quite a big problem with my Windows Seven installation. I am using it on my Dell D630, which had XP and Vista previously. The thing is when I am on battery the battery meter on the taskbar does not display the correct value sometimes, and my laptop even hibernates without any notification or alert. The weird stuff is when I click on the battery meter it displays the correct values. When it is happening, Seven does not even recognize when I plug the charger in.
Any ideas what could be wrong? System specs: Dell D630 laptop, Core2 Duo 2GHz CPU, 2.5GB DDR2 533, 160GB HDD, Intel 965 chipset with GMA X3100. All drivers are the Seven default ones except for GMA X 3100, because the prerelease driver produces the infamous taskbar flickering error so I rolled back to version 7.x (theoretically for Vista).

Any help would be much appreciated,
    Thanks!

What version of Windows 7? And have you checked power settings in the BIOS?

    Hi there,

I am using the RC (build 7100). Though I'm not sure which power settings you mean, I would say they should be OK, because with XP and Vista the issue never occured and I did not change anything in the BIOS since installed Seven.
