Laptop not using full power of my RAM?

    Hi,

I just posted another thread and got my answer there via the Nero Info Tool 5. This tool was awsome and it showed me something more that made me think:

When I go to the window called "Hardware" it shows me my hardware specs and not everything adds up: It says that my RAM is at 2Gig but it should say 4Gig. What does this mean?

Another thing: Same tool says that my graphic-card needs an update but when i go to update it, it says that it has the latest update.

Please fill in your system specs, though I will also reply with my suspicions without those.

Windows of any version in 32-bit will only address 4 GB of memory, max. You likely also have an integrated video card, which will use "shared" memory, taking memory from your RAM, decreasing the amount of memory available to the system.

You can try from an elevated command prompt:

    bcdedit /set PAE forceenable
    bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVa 4096

reboot, see how much ram is reported.

I think it is due to me running 32-bit windows. I read some threads and I think thats the problem.

    Thanks anyway
