    Partition on Hard Drive Disappearing

I have a hard drive problem that really puzzled me. I have a 120GB HD from my old computer with window XP on it. It was partitioned in 2 drives; 1 drive with 40 GB with window XP system, the other drives with 80 GB for data file only.
I recently bought a new HP desktop with window 7. I pulled the HD from the old computer and put it into this new computer as a second HD. The new HP computer can recognize the second HD. However, it shows that this hard drive only have one partition that has all 120 GB on it. The only files I can see are the ones on the old system partition. I could not see any data files that were on the second data partition. I already recycled my old XP computer. I still have some recent data files on this hard drive that I have not backed up yet. I would really appreciate if there is any way to find these data files on this HD. I already checked disk management and it only shows one big partition for this HD (no separate data partition).
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Is it attached master or slave, and is it formated fat32 or ntfs? And your system specs don't tell us what your machine is....

Check that the partition has a drive letter assigned. See this tutorial - https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...ndows-7-a.html
