Uh-oh. Is anything running at startup? You should at least have a list of some type in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg".
Here's mine (not all are checked in msconfig but they show up there):

My AV and gadgets aren't in the startupreg, either, but many other things are as I have shown, specifically, the Synaptics startup.

Sorry, kyzersoze, you've got me stumped. I've never seen it that way. Maybe it's an Acer issue?

If it were me, I'd do a repair install. However, that's not to say there isn't something else at play here. Until someone chimes in with a better idea, though, that is what I would do.

I hesitate to even mention it because, to me, it should always be a last resort. I hope I'm wrong.

my laptop was infected with malware last 2 days, then I scanned and removed it. But before I went on and do that, richc46 adviced me to do a clean boot. And after I finished the clean boot, EzioAuditore adviced me to use malwarebytes and scan for infected files, then it found infected files and removed it. But before I scanned, and after the clean boot, synaptics won't run on start-up

What is the string in the "command" key? Is it "C:\Program Files ..." or "%Program Files% ..."?

richc46 and EzioAuditore gave you good advice, BTW. They're great members who have helped a lot of people. :)
