Hi ash - thats happened about 20 times in the past few days (see my aero thread) done it since before then. Thinking about it, it was fine in my old pc as it was an ide/sata board so it was connected by an ide cable, but hey, not a lot I can do about that, lol. Im just in the middle of getting windows the way I like it, been installing stuff for the past day or 2

    Hi SeanHelen
When you boot up your PC does your hard drive spin up as usual?
If not tell me what noise it makes.

    Hi SeanHellen
Sorry for the late reply. I have been having computer problems of my own(My motherbored and proseser blew up!).
Do you still have the drive?
Also do you have another drive that you can use as the OS and see if you can use the drive from that.
    Let me know.

This may be too late, but, IMO, the best suggestion in this thread is to adapt the drive to USB. It's likely that your attempt to connect via the sata ports is your issue. Is it worth $10-$15 to try what possibly could have saved you hours of headache?:

Hi everyone, yep I still have the drive - cant be bothered taking the side of the pc off again, I like not staring at half a pc
I think I might try the enclosure thing as a last resort, nothing else has worked, lol

Ash - how did you manage that???? OC a bit too much or just put a bit of a strain on it lol :)
