Sorry For the Delay I have been trying to follow the steps to make a Bootable USB and got stuck on the final part that ask you to put in the windows DVD and do the final Step...Problem Is and what ive been trying to work on for the last hour is that I cant get my IDE HDD and my Dvd Drive(s) To cooperate..No matter how many times I try to make the one master/slave/cable select..Either one show up and not the other or the Hard drive reads something Different than what it is and doesnt load...I dont know if Its Drama with the IDE cable itself But I cant get the DVD drive and the hard drive to work right together...Was the whole reason I wanted to use the USB bootable thingy was Cause I knew this wanna gonna give me(more) Drama.

Is there another way to make a bootable USB w/o using the Aid of the Dvd drive?

Sir Ivan the soso, I am currently using windows 7 On a 40g HD...I told the Bios to make this the bootable Hard drive and Not the 500g one..And When I try to do that it once again Hangs at the "starting Windows" screen and doesnt allow this 40g to Boot windows 7.

Right now the only way I can communicate with people is Im using the 40g windows 7 drive only...Nothing else is Attached. No 500g HDD or dvd/cd drive..Just this hard drive alone. The 500g Has been disconnected which seems to currently be the only way I can load the 40g drive...When I hook the 2 together It always hands at the Starting Windows screen

Testo the ide cable is setup as such where the end connection (master) or black is the master which should connect to the harddrive and the middle part of the cable (slave) to the dvd drive. You have pins on the back of the drives called jumper as you probably well know set each of the pins to cable select on the harddrive and the dvd drive with the cables hooked up as I mentioned up above and you shold be set to go..You computer will recognize them if yu set it up this way...

I have no idea why my CPU is difficult when it comes to jumper settings...Ive tried to set the jumpers to cable select and also for master/slave and it still doesnt load correctly...Ive been trying for the past hour now to make a Bootable flash Drive so I can try to boot from the flash the other program you recommened..However i get an error called "Bootmgr" missing and forces me to restart...everywhere I have read and researched says I need to copy files from the windows DVD to make the flash drive bootable..However Since I cant get the DVD to come up WITH the hard drive I cant do that >_<...

I now Have a headache ...Is there a back door way to make the USB drive bootable w/o copying the Bootsect file(s) from the dvd drive?

Im going to try a final time right now and make everything cable select and see how far that takes me..Thank you all for your help and patiance.

Did you set the usb device as the first boot device in bios, if you don't you will get that error message "bootmanager is missing. The usb has to be set first in bios...and no problem I enjoy helping out...

Also you can make it bootable using these methods from this site:

http://www.bootdisk.com/pendrive.htm

In your case I would use method 2. If you have a floppy you could use 1 but I'm assuming you don't.
