SATA that support AHCI and RAID mode only

    Now I got a new problem

    I don't think Windows 7 recognize that it is a SSD disk. It doesn't disable defrag, superfetch and prefetch.

    When booting I have to choose another harddrive. If I choose the SSD Windows won't start.

    I've changed SATA ports on all drives. Now the SSD is SATA1. But no difference.

    Edit: I reinstalled Windows with just the SSD and in SATA1. Now I can boot with the SSD. Windows auto disable the disk from defrag but not superfetch and prefetch. I've tried this "fsutil behavior query DisableDeleteNotify" and get "0". So I hope TRIM is working...

So I'm setting up a M4N78 pro asus mobo for windows 7. delima # 1 I just took out my XP sata drive and Installed a new drive for 7_ 64 bit. I set it up for ahci because I want to set it up for raid. I read where if you set a drive up for raid it has to be an ahci drive at least on this...
While dealing with another issue, I've been told that I should switch my SATA mode from RAID to AHCI. I do not have a RAID array and don't plan to. However, I've been told that I would need drivers for this, and I'm not sure if my Windows installation has them or not. I don't want to switch modes...

I Installed windows on a ssd drive running in ahci mode. I then switched the sata setting in the bios from ahci to raid in order to add 2 other hdds as a raid 0. Now the pc won't boot anymore getting no boot device error. I know about the registry fix to get an IDE sata drive to boot in ahci mode,...
