Windows 7: New HDD, transfer windows, improve performance

New HDD, transfer windows, improve performance

I decided to get a SAMSUNG HD103SJ as it has twice the benchmark score compared to my current drive.

I will copy my current drive onto this to get the most benefit. I imagine I would get most benefit from re-installing win 7 from scratch again but I don't think I want the hassle.

This will leave two drives that according to benchmark are half as good and I am left wondering how I can use these to their best.

I play games, have lots of music, and ofc have AV. I heard that installing different items on your drives can speed up your performance. I have tried googling but I cannot find guides for this. Please suggest what would work best on my system.

Thank you in advance.

Windows 7 x86/x64, Server 2008r2, Web Server 2008

I would set the smaller drive to be your OS drive and the larger drive to be your application drive.

Any advice to improve windows 7 performance?
I have a horribly outdated motherboard, so upgrading the CPU isn't an option, and upgrading the RAM would be a waste of money. So what can I change through software to make it a little more responsive? I was using build 7077 x86, 7100 x64 seems faster in some places, but slower in others. with just...

How does Windows 7 improve performance?
This isn't a bad article. The most interesting part for me was the following comment ""The top compatibility issue when a new version of Windows comes out is drivers checking for a very specific version." In other words, many drivers say "if this doesn't equal Windows XP, then don't install",...
