The site says they're compatible with socket 939 and AM2 mounting for those are VERY similar, if not the same, Socket A is VERY different (one of his first coolers linked was only socket A).

Regarding your question about graphics cards, you'll be absolutely fine so long as the card uses the correct interface (PCI Express x16) and that your PSU is of sufficient power capacity with the correct power connectors should the card require extra power. In many systems, the PSU is the limiting factor, so you will have to choose a card accordingly or be prepared to upgrade the PSU as well.

    PSU : Power Supply Unit.

    You're welcome. :)

If you have any doubt, the best thing to do would be to remove the HSF and take it to your local computer hardware store so that you can compare it to the ones that they have in stock to ensure that you get one that fits.

OMG the 9800 Was beast back in the day, my fan went out on mine but you know its still working!! its in my other computer, i had to use a makeshift 80mm Fan Attached to a PCI cover to mount it under the 9800 Pro. But its still working.

As for your 450watt PSU. Typically 450 watts arnt used very much anymore, What brand is it? May consider upgrading it before you go too crazy about Upgrading anything else.

What would be the better of the two ? performance wise
This Thread has some useful info on PSU and Upgrading i had a discussion with SolarstarShine about his upgrades
