Can't use DVI while Dual Screens Are Working

i didn't really know where to ask this question...but here is my problem
i have had 2 screens (Acer x223w) one for my 360 Via DVI port with DVI/HDMI Adapter and the other screen for my PC use.
    i use a crappy NVIDIA GeForce 9200
i just bought a new HDMI could and HDMI to DVI adapter so i could dual screen my PC when i wasn't playing xbox.
but when i am dual screening and want to switch to the DVI to play xbox it doesn't allow me.
the steps i use to do before having 2 screens is go into Menu>Input>Input Source>DVI-D and it would go to my xbox.
but ever since i have had 2 screens running my PC it forces me back to the PC screen when i try to switch to the DVI to play Xbox.
Screen 1 is hooked up to my computer with HDMI
screen 2 is hooked up to my computer with VGA and then to the XBOX with a DVI/HDMI adapter and HDMI cord
not really sure if that explains my problem but it is as best as i can do

just wondering if there is anything i can do to fix this.

UPDATE: seems to work if my screens are set to Duplicate instead of extend. if i choose extended it doesn't like me switch to DVI

    not to bump a thread
but i guess i could just use win key + P and choose "Computer Only" When i want to play
but none the less and normal fix would be wonderful...
it also seems my xbox resets whenever i try to switch from VGA to HDMI so that could be truly the problem of the screen not "Handshaking" the hdmi connection

man i hate to bump again
but i am sooo confused on this duel boot screen set up of mine...
for some reason my screens flicker black..not like once every 10 mins...
i looked through the drivers and it says "acer x223w (digital)" but i thought vga/hdmi is analog or something
should i just uninstall those drivers and let Windows 7 use generic drivers?

what if you unplug the xbox completely - then do you get any flickering or other issues etc?

i dont know what else to suggest...

i havent personally tried dual dvi, so i dont know.
i have tried dvi + vga with a geforce 5900 on xp - that had no issues.

your card is more powerful than that - so driving 2 displays should be fine... why it isnt... hmm

    it isn't dual dvi
one screen is vga to vga port
then the other is dvi to hdmi port with a hdmi/dvi cord

    sorry, my bad.
hmmm, maybe it's that dvi to hdmi thing messing up... that's about all i can think of.
have you eliminated the xbox cabling or splitter or whatever you're using from the equation?

yeah i tested both hdmi cables and adapters and even went out and bought a new 50 dollar monster hdmi cable
and still happens...i thought it was a driver issue but i tried different drivers from the site...
it seems to happen when i click a link, open a folder or open a program.
but it doesn't do it every time...
