Windows 7: Suggestions for CPU heatsink

Suggestions for CPU heatsink

I have had the unfortunate experience of having to RMA my MB. So while it is out I thought it would be the perfect time to get a new heatsink. With the stock PhenomII heatsink, I could not run prime95 as temps would increase too high. In one instance the temp1 got to 78C. However I have 2 problems in finding a new heatsink.

My board is an mATX. With the stock heatsink I had less that 1 inch from the heatsink and the first ram slot, which has G Skill ripjaws in it, with the higher heat spreaders.

Also, my case is a Rosewill Cruiser. I measured it with the MB removed. I have about 7 inches from the back wall to the front.
The only one I have found that MIGHT fit is the Cooler Master hyper TX3.
It's no the best but all I want is something better than stock and QUIETER. The stock one sounds like a freight train.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The closed-system water cooler may be a good suggestion.

Alternately, there are lower-profile air coolers. - COOLER MASTER Vortex Plus RR-VTPS-28PK-R1 92mm Long life sleeve CPU Cooler

(I don't own one.) Whether it'll be a good fit on your mATX board, I don't know.

I think that a lot of coolers that'll fit, but you may have to install the RAM before the cooler. Your Ripjaws heatspreaders are tall, but not extremely so.

I use this heat sink on a foundry floor. The temps around the computer are at 140 degrees all day. It is the only heat sink that has not died on us. The company will not pay for water cooling.

Which Heatsink is better?
I am going to buy a new Heatsink for my AMD 965 Black Edition and i was going to get the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 then i found this 1: Akasa Thermal Solution And was wundering what 1 would cool better and would make less noise as the stock 1 now sounds so loud.

CPU heatsink lapping...???
I've just finished reading a few different tutorials on how to lap a cpu/heatsink. Has anyone here done that and are the temp differences really that big? One guide only showed a 2 degree drop.
