Windows 7: I cant update my bios for my mobo!

BIOS is the one component of the computer where "It it ain't broke, DON'T fix it" really applies.

If the computer boots just fine, and runs perfectly, leave it be. There are some members here who's BIOS software is 4 or 5 years old, but it works.

yes it is not broken i will not fix it and waste my money when i can jsut get a replacemnt mobo

Well i guess i learned one this in the past two day.. !!! DONT EVER FLASH MY BIOS!!!
for those out there who are new at flashing bios do not proceed if you are uncertain of what you are doing. and i you have too get, an update from the manufacturers website for your model only!

If you see a newer BIOS version available, the best thing to do is to look at the Release Notes and see if there is anything you absolutely need. Many updates just allow the board to support hardware you don't use anyway. Others fix problems in specific instances, but if you're not having the problem there is no need to "fix" it. You wouldn't take cough medicine today because you might get a cold next week, right?

PC not booting past mobo/bios splash

BIOS Update on a GA-Z68X-UD5-B3 MOBO
Gigabyte shows that if I install i7 3770k I will need Bios ver. F10 I have an i7 2600k installed now with BIOS ver. F5 Do you guys believe it is safe to install BIOS ver. F10 while my 2600k is installed? Afterwards I intend to change out the CPU's.
