    AMD Reservation Manager

    Hello all!

I've Googled, and searched this forum and several others with no luck.

Does anyone know what the AMD Reservation Manager service is? Does?

Is it needed? Can I disable it?

Service description: Blocks the resources for the applications at the software level
    What does that mean?

(It showed up with the latest CCC installation [Driver version 8.801.0.0])

    TIA

I've also done some looking and it appear nobody really knows what it is but maybe the software writers or the engineers.

I just installed the latest CCC and have this program also. It has a Listening TCP port of 7123.

anyone know why it needs a tcp port open?

Did you happen to notice that it is a loopback? Means it isn't going or waiting for anything outside of your computer,

Loopback - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As for what they are the best I have come across is the explanations here,

AMD Game Forums - I don't see the point - yet

Well people, I just updated the latest drivers and have this: AMD FUEL Service

This will certainly add to the confusion!

They just keep putting stuff on my computer and I wanna know what it is!

Come on AMD! Some people have limited computer resources to begin with and don't need extra, unwanted stuff!

I think, at the very least, we should know what these services do so we can make an educated decision about turning them off- agreed?

I turned both of them off when I found that it took forever to connect to the MMORPH I play. But AMD Reservation Manager keeps coming back, vampire-like, even after I've disabled it. Thanks a bunch AMD.
