    Devices and Printer's Blank

    Hi,

Let me start off by saying I built this computer about 6 or 7 months and had no issues like this until lately. When I try to open Microsoft Word, it hangs at "Connecting to Printer" and then becomes nonresponsive. Then, when I try to go into Devices and Printers, nothing is displayed and it hangs up. I can go in and end the Spooler service, and everything will appear. Then I find an error that says USB Controller is missing drivers, but Windows Update cannot find drivers for it. I've currently uninstalled all printers associated with my computer, but I'm still having the same problem. Please help. :/

    Thanks.

What does it look like in your device manager? Any issues showing up in there?

Under "Other Devices" it has USB Controller with a troubleshoot symbol next to it. It says there are no drivers installed for this device. Other than that everything looks good.

Try updating that driver and see if that doesn't fix your problem.

When I try to update the driver for that device, it says no drivers found, and since I'm not exactly sure what device it is, I can't manually do it.

Go here and get the moboard drivers for your model.

You stated it is USB controller? So you know.

That fixes the driver issue with the USB Controller. Thanks for that. But the Spooler/Devices and Printer issue is still happening. I currently have no printers installed on my computer because I thought that would fix the issue.

You still have some lelft overs from the uninstall of printer. Use Ccleaner and then reboot and check for issue.

It's still hanging. :/ However, I was able to clear some room off my SSD using that. Thanks.

Did you run the registry cleaner part of that app? It will create a backup, so if anything else goes wrong you can go back to the way it was before. That's what I was referring to with the left overs, some registry strings are still about and need to be removed. Run that and then check it.
