That's not your problem, that would only happen if you were using a 32Bit OS, there must be another reason other wise we would be having the same problem wouldn't we.

yes it's truer reporting of windows WDDM, I asked the same question on technet

With WDDM it is dynamic, so that RAM is only "allocated" for use but not "locked" in solely for the GUI etc

does it change if you disable AERO ??

I should likely add this bit of info.

My BIOS is up-to-date with HP's bios updates.. those are rare thing to see :P

Also when I change 'msconfig advanced boot options' to use this

Less than 4.0 GB RAM usable?
It's funny, because ALL of my RAM was usable some time ago. (I have no idea how long ago this was, but it was on the same OS) I am using Windows 7 Professional 32-bit. I know about the whole 32-bit issue where some say you can't use much more than 3GB. Well, I WAS. I wouldn't be writing this...

What's this all about? Last time I checked system properties it said 5.5 GB usable. Now, today I noticed that my sidebar said that my memory is 40% in use and there's only 1.5 GB available. What's going on here? I was thinking it could be my video card taking the memory, but I didn't change any...
