DVD Drive not visable

Hi all

I've just installed a second SATA controler (ADAPTEC 1430SA SATA RAID CONTROL) and connected a BD DVD drive to it.

The controller is not seeing it nor is My Computer but Computer Management has identified the drive but can't see any disk inserted.

Is this because this card will only deal with HDD's?

Regards

Update

All

Just in case anyone else gets this problem. I've sorted this issue by connecting all of my HDDs to the second controller and my DVD drives connected to my MB.

Everything is working fine now

I guess SATA Raid controller is designed only for HDD and not DVD/BD... Raid is only for HDD after all .
