Need a new hard-drive

Hello there,

I am looking into getting a new hard drive partly because I have 10gb left of 500gb so I am looking at getting a 1000gb hard-drive also it is a few years old so the performance is not that great.

Can anyone suggest to me a good hard drive for my PC that is under about 60? that includes both of the above.

Many Thanks,

I would personally stick to 1TB and wouldn't consider 3TB at this stage for a range of reasons.

The 3TB one? Not necessarily. Consider also that there are also certain prerequisites to be met to make a 3TB drive bootable, some are not yet mainstream, particularly UEFI instead of the more common BIOS.

The cache/buffer on HDDs are just where commonly used values are stored that have been used earlier, so if that same value needs to be read again, it can be read from the cache, which is a lot quicker than having to read it from the HDD again. Larger caches are better to go for.

The larger the drive, the slower it will be.
