SDHC are higher capacity ,some older devices cannot read them ,from the nuvi 250 onwards you should be ok :)
It is a Garmin nuvi265WT. I have never had any need before now for this type of card. Can I assume that 4 GB cards are all in reality SDHC cards, and that 4GB plain SD cards do not exist?

Yes , they are hard to find nowadays luckily it will no bother you with the 265 it will accept the SDHC card

For a long time ive been using this sd reader with my SDHC cards on my pc without any issues, however this week they stopped working. Windows doesn't detect them at all. I tried a few other sdhc cards and they didn't work either however an old 2GB sd card did.
