Motherboard Bundles | Making a computer for my dad

My dad has asked for a estimate price what it would cost to build him a new computer.

I would keep the existing hard drive and PSU and case.

I'm looking at some sort of motherboard bundle. Something dual or quad core that comes with a descent amount of ram.

He'll be mainly using it for internet use and playing pin ball lol.

My guess is around £150 at the very most, including a 128MB/ 256MB graphics card.

Do you have any suggestions? I'll be running XP on it.

    Thanks
    Dan

Go to Amazon.com, or Newegg.com, they usually have bundles available at fairly nice prices. Good Luck.

I never upgrade a PC and use the old PSU as they just get old and the voltage seems to vary at times.
Unless the PC is less than 18months old.

    Hi dannyboy2005,

Do you have a Maplin store in/near Coventry? If so, have a look at these (all include integrated graphics):

Computing : Motherboards, Bundles and PC''s : Motherboard / Processor Bundles : Maplin Electronics

I know that this one is £10 over your budget, but it includes the RAM (you will need to buy RAM for the others):

BGrade Triple Core AMD Athlon II 440 X3 AM3 Board Bundle 2GB DDR3 Free Delivery : Motherboard Processor Bundles : Maplin

I have spoken to my dad, he wants to spend as little as possible.

If you are going down that route you may find a complete base unit for very little money , Don't buy the first you see ,shop around a little
