HP M1415fn printer

Hello,

I've installed HP M1415fn printer and everything is ok. Printer prints ok, scans ok. But one problem has occurred and i can't solve it. When printing from pdf that has headers and footers, the page that is not full of text eg. has 3-4 lines of text+header text+footer text is printed in that way that the footer is "moved" up and it's printed somewhere in the middle of the paper. It's the same case for every pdf document that has page that is not full of text. I've checked all of the properties and they are ok. When i convert pdf to word document every page is printed ok, so the problem only occurs when the document is in pdf. Did anybody occurred similar problem? It's a network printer connected to win7 machine with drivers provided by HP for win7(everything is installed by the book). I've add example of original document in pdf and the example how it's printed. Note: printing pdf on other printers there's no problem.

Thanks

What are you using to print the PDF with?

Check your PDF viewer's printer settings, namely margins and document size. If your margins are off (in this case, by a lot) the footer will move to wherever and print to normal scale but the contents of the PDF will bleed on to page 2, 3, 4, etc.

You can test this by creating a PDF full of text and see how many pages print (not just four lines).

Thanks for the answer. I'm not currently at my work place, i'll check it tommorow. We use PDF Creator for printing pdf. I've downloaded random pdf from the net that contains header and footer and same thing happens with that pdf when printing only with HP M1415fn. Upgrading printer firmware didn't help. Anything else on your mind ?

Use a different PDF app (say, Adobe Reader, Nitro PDF, CutePDF)

I believe it's not the problem with my pdf reader or pdf creator tools because the problem would exists also when printing on other printers. We use Adobe Reader for reading pdf documents and also for printing, tried also with Acrobat. Anyway thanks for your time, if anything else comes to your mind I would gladly accept any suggestions. Hope someone had similar problem or even the same and has the solution?

When you print a full-page PDF, what are your results like?

When printing full page everything is ok. Footer is then there when it should be , the problem only occurs when the pdf page is not full. More specifically less than half the page of text and then the problem starts.

Just out of curiosity, try using a different program to CREATE your PDFs. Create a PDF from a plain text document using Notepad (to keep as much formatting out as possible to limit possible variables). Add your headers and footers using Notepad's settings and print it to a PDF, then print that PDF like normal using Adobe Reader (or other popular PDF viewer).

Try CutePDF. There is something in the PDF itself that is causing the problem. Since HP lasers accept more complex printing "schematics" so to speak for their documents, it may not be translated when converted to Word and it may not show up on other printers (I printed it just fine).

Also, try printing the PDF I attached. I took yours and sanatized it of ANYTHING that wasn't the text on the page.

Tried creating pdf also with primo pdf. I will also try your notepad suggestion. I have found a workaround, there is something with "compatibility" of adobe products (reader, acrobat) no matter what version (tried with versions 7, 8, 9, 10) with this secific printer. I've installed Foxit Reader and after opening the file i tried it to print, and under preview (file - print) there is "zoom" tab and it was set to 96%. I've changed it to 100% and tried printing and finally every page was printed how it should in the first place. It's the only solution i could find for now being. Thank you mr. Lymann for your time and help.
