    Quick query

Have just been reading re the Intel muck up with the new boards and so glad I didn't go ahead and buy - like tomorrow!!

However I digress - can someone tell me if an i5 2500 will work on either a P67 or H67 board as apparently one cannot use the inbuilt graphics with a P67 board.

My point being that why have the i5 2500 (or any of the SB CPUs) if one has to use a graphics card on said P67 board??

The CPU (i5 2500) will work on any LGA 1155 board. Be it a H67 or a P67 chip. The CPU already has the GPU built into it, you just need the appropriate board (ie:H67 chip) to utilize it.

Hey thanks society I was told that I couldn't use the P67 if I wanted to use the onboard graphics and being a teknosimpleton was completely thrown.

So from what you are telling me I can use the onboard with a H67 and still use an extra graphics card if I should want to tinker a bit??

Just am left wondering why they have to complicate things so much (well to me!) - always lol!!

Ya the P67 boards are for dedicated graphics. And depending on the board it may support multiple graphic cards (SLI or Crossfire). The H67 boards will have onboard graphics and you should be able to add a dedicated graphic card later if you wish….providing the have a slot for one! However I do not believe you can SLI or Crossfire with an Intel graphics chip.

    Thanks again

Thanks again society at least I know where I am now. As for the cards it is just a thought a I don't game much except when one can get hold of a decent flight combat or hunter submarine sim.
I like dabbling in the security stuff although as I said am only a newbie yet.
But at least I know I would have that capability.
    Cheers!!
