    Is this RAM better - not sure about the code?

    4GB will be an upgrade since it is more memory.

    looks like you currently have 2x 1GB DDR2 667Mhz SoDimms in there.

    Sorry to be a slow here but my "2x 1GB DDR2 667Mhz" obviously means that I have 2 gig therefore 4 is obviosuly an upgrade!!

    Yep.

    But since you have only two slots available (which are already filled) You will need to buy a 2x2GB SDRAM PC2-5300 Kit to replace those two existing 1GB sticks.
