One program I ended going for the full version was simply downloading the shareware trial version of UltraISO which allows you to create disk images from optical media and then see written to a flash drive. The "bootable" tab on the menu bar when going to write the image insures the flash drive is made bootable.

Other programs like PowerISO are able to create standard iso images which you can see burned to disk now in 7 since support for burning iso images to disk is now included in 7. For flash drives MS also provided their own tool at the MS store for electronic purchases that will write isos to flash drives.

The guide for using the MS tool is seen at Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool

A free program not a shareware for creating ISO images from disks is found at ISODisk, free software for mount and create ISO disk image being one of the two mentioned in the first guide. You will need to see this done on another machine however since yours is still waiting for an OS.
