Windows 7 doesn't detect USB port

    Windows 7 doesn't detect USB port


    When I plug in a usb, it doesn't detect it, What should I do?

    Check in device manager if the drive is up there. What kind of usb devise is not detected?

    Hi msnuser193 and welcome to the Se7enforums!

    When installing 7 did you also make sure all chipset and other drivers available were installed as well? Look in the usb controller section to see if you have yellow marked items found there. If you don't have the correct board drivers installed things like the usb, sata, memory, and other board controllers won't be running as well as some essential services needed in Windows.

    USB ports are not listed in the device manager

    And the installation doesn't install any drivers , including my network driver

    You should have USB in Universal Serial Bus Controllers

    fixed it, it was the bios settings
