System drive problem (maybe ?)

    hi all :)

    defrag making things worse sounds right as number of times the drive gone missing from "my computer" and defrag screen and check disk had to be used to get it back

    my second harddrive is fine :S also i tryed diffent ports but got boot file missing.

    anyways thanks for the help so far :)

    Hmm....that looks definitely destroyed. Good, i mean now we know its bad. But run the tests with the samsung utility too.

    Hi :)

    the samsung boot cd does not find any drives !! yet windows boots just so so slow

    my 4 year old laptop runs faster !!

    no more nfts or disk errors in event viewer.

    i ran 8 hours of memtest 86+ with no errors, im really lost to point of shelfing the new build

    Everything here points to the drive being bad. If you are still under warranty I would back up what is still good on there do a basic wipe, then set up a RMA with the manufacturer.

    Hi :)

    ok this getting silly this is screen shots of my other drive (1TB)

    have both gone south ? (bad).

    any other idea on how to check before i RMA the 500gb ? (1TB) out of warritiy

    Actually may want to hold on that rma.
    I have to admit I've never seen this before. The odds that both drives have decided to go bad at the same time are really low though.
    Is it possible that you have a friend's computer or another yourself you could plug one of these drives into and run the same test on?
    I'm beginning to think my initial impression of a bad motherboard controller may have been correct.

    Is this store bought or self built, next you said os only week old, did you upgrade or clean install, the motherboard is still possibility but i'm leaning first to bad install of os, just a thought.
