And you may be waste money since the problem may be the conector on the motherboard or the controller not the DVD drive.

Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit

Have you found a solution because I have the same problem with an ACER ASPIRE 5520 running with Windows 7. The problem came while I was upgrading from Vista to 7. Also, if I open the System Informations windows, under Software Environment, Driver System, at the Starting Mode column, it is written Deactivated for:
cdfs, CD/DVD File System Reader
crcdisk, Crcdisk Filter Driver
udfs, udfs
ws2ifsl Driver IFS Winsock

I hope those informations help find a solution.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Also, when I go to BIOS, I can open the reader door with the button. As soon as Windows 7 start, I loose power.

HD Not recognized in Windows 7 but in BIOS
I recently installed Windows 7 onto my computer and one of the hard drives is not displayed in Windows. It is listed in the boot sequence and in BIOS. Does anyone have an idea as to why it would be in the BIOS but not available through Windows 7? Thanks.
