disk letter\labels changed and lost data problem

I have a lian li external storage with 3 sata disks. For some reason the drive letter and name changed on a reboot.

Two disks had the same name, and on one of them almost all data was lost. Running a recovery program now, but any idea what coulp have caused this?

The removable disks will always find the most convinient drive letter available. As for the lost data it could be either accidental deletion or formating...

That's alright mate how much data did you loose.
I lost 700GB last week. Non of the software recommended by any of the members worked to recover it so I scrapped the lot and learned something very hard. Don't 'waste my time'.

lost something like that. trying some programs, stopped scan after 15 min and it recognized all folders etc. So will let it run and see.

thanks to xbmc library i can see what the files are. So out shopping for a 2tb drive for the recovered files...
