    Windows 7 on a Gateway GM5632E

I own a Gateway GM5632E and would like to run Windows 7 on it. I purchased a one of the family upgrades, so I own Windows 7 Home premium. I have attempted the upgrade twice. I never get ANY errors, but at about 65% through the final process, it just hangs. No reason, no nothing. I reboot and it rolls back my Vista. I know that Gateway says Windows 7 won't run on this system, but I also know that others have made it work. Any ideas or direction would be helpful. Thanks In Advance.

I suggest doing a clean install- yes, you can clean install windows from an upgrade disk.

Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version

During the install, delete all the partitions and format the hard drive then create fresh partitions, that'll give you the best start.

What are the system specs? Nevermind, found them.

Windows 7 will run extremely well on that system. I'd stop going to Gateway and just get the drivers from the source, like Intel. A clean install will work fine, and once you load the drivers it will be running very well.
