    Dear Fumz,
Congrats first on crossing the 1000th post! A milestone for me too as i cross the 200th post! I would agree with pparks for two reasons, A) you must have readied yourself in every which way to build a new PC with ssd's and there is a 20% rebate which Brink our Admin has given you the coupon code! B) Sail when the winds are good and it sure will give you a kick when you see the phenom. increase in performance when you migrate from the mechanical to SSD!

    Wishing you a happy time,
    Sreedhav

I believe that RevoDrives do not have TRIM support though.
The OCZ people say that the Revo does not need Trim because the sandforce controllers use a "lazy" garbage collection algorithm. Apparently tests have shown that there is very little write degradation.

But on another note: You should check whether your board/BIOS supports a PCI attached SSD.
Well, that is good news. :)

    Found this:
OCZ RevoDrive x2 100GB PCIe SSD Review – Fastest Consumer SSD Available! | The SSD Review

Hopefully your board will support booting from a PCI-E SSD device Fumz.

    Fumz,

Did you decide to get one?

I just couldn't resist getting a RevoDrive X2 for the price after the promo code myself.

    Brink,

    I'm jealous! Nice buy.

Since they're not even selling my board yet, I decided to wait for the new drives. I really really wanted to jump on that 20%, but the X2's were a bit much. I have ~ $250-300.00 allotted for an SSD.

I wouldn't have normally either, but that price was hard to resist.

I'm sure that there will be another huge sale on them again when the new ones come out though.
