    Scanner Buttons To Pc Problem


    Hi,

    I managed to get the HP software to install via the USB express install

    method after deleting all the .inf, .sys, and .dll HP related files and

    removing HP registry entries.

    But both of the scanner buttons that link to the computer on the unit

    still do not work?

    Any ideas?

    Your help is most appreciated.

    I can only offer a workaround until you can get your scanner buttons problem sorted out. You should still be able to USE your scanner even without the scanner buttons. I have an HP scanner and the method below works very well:


    Scanning with WINDOWS PHOTO GALLERY
    • Turn on printer and connect USB cord to computer.
    • Be sure printer is set to 'copy' not 'scan.'
    • Place document in printer.
    • Go to Start, All Programs.
    • Click Windows Photo Gallery
    • Click 'File.' (To pre-set exact file destination, after clicking File select Options, Import, and choose the file location you want the doc sent to.)
    • Click 'Import From Scanner or Camera.'
    • Optional - Set parameters: photo or documents, feeder or flatbed, color, gray scale or b - w, type of file.
    • Optional - Click 'Preview' to check image, and adjust as necessary.
    • Click 'Import'
    • Click 'Scan'
    • When “tag” (file name) comes up in the little Scan box at the bottom-right corner of the screen, fill in the file name, and save to exact file location.

    Thanks for the tip but I can now scan from all areas except the two scan buttons on the unit?

It may just be time to retire it, but until now my HP5510v has worked reasonably well. However now, even though it will preview a document as well as always, it will not scan it. It takes forever for it to finish a pass, with the light carriage moving extremely slow, and stopping ~ every 1/4 to...
With some of the buttons/drop down menus i've seen on my computer get cut off. I do not know what is causing this. I attatched a photo of an example of one of the many problems that occur like this. Does anyone know how to fix it?
