WASD not working on either keyboards during games. GTA IV.

So I downloaded GTA IV last night and as I started to play and the entire keypad didn't work. All of the letter keys like WASD are not working and so I cannot move. Other parts of the keyboard like the space bar works but when I went in to go remap the keyboard it just shows up as 1, 2, 3, 4 etc.. Anyways, I have been trying all sorts of different things and it still doesn't work. I also installed the Episodes From Liberty City, hoping it was just an installation problem. I really want to play these games and I really need help. Please and thank you!

R u using an official version of the game and the official serial key, if not it may be because of a faulty crack u have installed. Most cracks seen on the internet either lead to viruses hardware problems, software problems, in game problem or OS problem. To this date i think there are no cracks that let the game and/or system run normally.

on the other hand if you are run a legit version of the game then it must be a software/ hardware problem, try updating ur drivers

    Solved

I have the legitimate game but I found the solution. Windows 7 installed a program that hid my keystrokes from certain .exe files. This caused Grand Theft Auto IV to not recognize those keystrokes. I believe the program was called ID Scanner or something of the sort. If anyone has the same problems go into the Control Panel and look in the Uninstall Programs folder and search around for something along the lines of ID -------. This is at your own risk so research any programs before you delete them, I would hate for you to mess up your computer or leave it exposed for the sake of trying to play a video game!
