remove system volume partion on 2nd hardrive

I removed the mirror for my 2 hardrive to reinstall win7 & sp1. I am now unable to remirror(greyed out) or reformat that 2nd drive as it is still showing as a system volume partion. Any idea how to correct this issue.
    TIA

No responses but I did finally figure this problem out through trial and error.
Turn off the computer and disconnect the 2nd hardrive. Reboot and turn off again. reconnect the hardrive and it will show up as foreign. Right click on the partion you want to remove and choose convert to basic. THIS WILL ERASE everything on that drive. Convert back to Dynamic, set up a simple volume and re mirror or reformat.
