laptop fails to boot when screen connected

Ok here is a brain beater.

I have a acer 5235 laptop on win 7 now the screen got cracked (but still worked)

I have got a new screen the same model number the screen has now been fitted but the laptop wont power up ???

Now if you unplug the screen from the mother board the laptop will power up so its not a motherboard fault

plugged the screen back in and got a instant shutdown

So thinking the screen is at fault i plugged my old cracked screen back in and boom no power laptop fails to power up so d/c the screen it powers up plug the screen in while powered up and it shuts down instant crash

the laptop works on an external monitor perfect

the new screen is from acer them selfs no after market

the strange thing is even the original cracked screen is failing to let the laptop power up

There is no lights nothing when the screen is plugged in also it knocks the light out on the adaptor unplug the screen from the motherboard and everything works ???

the laptop was working fine until the screen got cracked

it almost sounds like a electrical short.

it may be messy and not possible, but can u simply replace the physical screen i.e. the cracked bit and nothing else see what happens, it means taking apart ur broken and new screen just to replace the physical screen an nothing else.

speak to the seller also for any more info or if he/she has had anything similar

    Yet again a brain beater

    problem solved

im cant think how the time and date can give me such a headache but it has

while on en external monitor i noticed the time was 1 hour in front

so i set the time to the correct time but also the date was jan 2009 ?

i set the time n date and thought il drop the broken screen back in so i dont loose any screews and send the new screen back but upon pluging the screen back in the laptop turned its self on and the screen powered up ?

so i took that screen back out and popped the new one in and bingo all works nice

i just cant see how the date n time can effect it like this (its all i done)

no matter what replies get posted to this it aint going to make sense to me
