    SSD and Readyboost

    Hello all,

I've got an older Dell Inspiron laptop that has only 512mg ram.

I swapped out the mechanical hard drive for an SSD. It's made a huge difference in running W7.

I partitioned the drive into a System and Data drive and W7 said I could use it for Readyboost. Since I only have 512mg ram, I gave it the go ahead.

My question is that will I see any performance issues since I'm using the SSD as a Readyboost device? My initial thought is no, since its much faster than any hard drive and almost as good as using ram.

    Any other thoughts?

It should work fine, but its not always a good idea to have the OS and readyboost on the same drive, I would say it will do the same function as page files do.
