SSD and Intel SSD Toolbox app

Not sure if this is the right forum, but...

I recently installed an Intel X-25 M 120GB SSD in my VAIO SR290 notebook. The notebook has a Core2Duo T9600 cpu, 6 GB of RAM and is running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1.

Everything seems to be working fine, but the Intel Solid State Drive Toolbox app (version 2.01.00) is a bit flaky. Sometimes it won't "see" the SSD when I run it (I fire it up every week or so to run the TRIM function even though I shouldn't need to with Win 7). A reboot usually (but not always) fixes the issue.

Any thoughts (besides "don't run it", I mean)? :)

    Thanks!

    Run it as admin?

Ah, great minds think alike! Yeah, I tried that, but it doesn't help. I uninstalled it and re-installed it also and the behavior is the same. Sometimes it works, sometimes not...

My guess is it's got a conflict with the laptop's controller or something.
I can't think of any additional permissions you could give the application or anything else that might help it. You could always look in %appdata% and see if there might be some settings for it you can manually toy with.

Bummer. Nothing in there related to SSD Toolbox, just an IAStorUtil folder with an xml file that controls window size for the IRST app.

I guess it's no big deal, since it does actually work every now and then.

    Thanks,
