    Keyboard Problem

The keys on my friend's laptop running Win7 x64 are directly working as shortcuts..!!!

i.e if u press R on home screen directly RUN Dialog Box opens and hence it's become a head ache as we're unable to use the keyboard normally..!!!

    Strange as it may seem..!!

How to restore normal operation of the keys..??

    pls help..!!

    urgent..!!!

Does Windows explorer open if you hit E? Can you type normally in a text editor? It could just be the windows key stuck down.

hi mkchatz, and welcome to sevenforums,

if it does turn out to be a stuck key, try cleaning it with a toothbrush, shaking it upside down a few times to dislodge any possible crud build-up.

You might need to take the keyboard apart and make sure the silicone and circuit board isnt messed up. If you can, try plugging in a new keyboard.

    Hi,
I have the same problem, but it is intermittent... I have a laptop Asus (I don't know the model)

For example, when I push the key "1" (only that key), it opens the first program in the list on the right of the Windows Start... This function is normally done when you push "Windows Key + 1"...

Last time (yesterday), the problem began... I didn't know what to do and I decided to push "Windows Key + 1"... After that the problem is gone... I was surprised but evidently that is not the definitive solution.

    Do you have any suggestions?
    Have you solved this problem?

    Thanks.
